With the conclusion of the BSPA AGM at the weekend it was officially confirmed that the Edinburgh Monarchs will run again in 2018, great news ahead of the Trust’s AGM this Friday evening. This will be the 70th year of the Monarchs and we are already looking forward to another exciting season.
As a result of this we are able to announce more prizes for our end of season Draw, first prize in the draw is £500 cash. Two sets of 4 hospitality tickets for a Monarchs match of your choice has been added to the list of prizes already announced. You can buy tickets online or find out more information about the draw here. Please make sure you get all tickets returned to a committee member before Fridays draw, contact us via the mailbox if you need assistance with this.
At a recent committee meeting the club again reiterated that the Monarchs Fans Trust is one of the reasons it is able to function and commit to racing in what is a turbulent time for the sport. It was an expensive end to the season for the club but thanks to the contributions of our members we have been able to help soften that blow and cover some of these costs. The Trust donated £2,000 more than our normal monthly contribution during September and £5,000 more in October. The committee discussed this at length at the last 3 meetings with the motivation being that we can help the club start preparations for 2018 with a clean slate so the board can focus on making our 70th Year another successful one.
It is our members who make this happen and the committee of the Trust and the club can’t thank you enough for the getting behind speedway in the east of Scotland. All donations large and small add up to some fantastic numbers and at the end of the 3rd year of the Trust we are so pleased with the progress we have made. We encourage all members to attend the AGM on Friday to find out more, 7.30pm in the bar at Armadale Stadium. Please come along and get involved, it is your Trust!
The official invitation to all our members to the Monarchs Fans Trust Annual General Meeting was sent out earlier this week, it will take place next Friday 24th November in the bar at Armadale Stadium starting at 7.30pm. This is the best place to find out what has happened this year, hear about our plans for next year and have your say on how the Trust operates going forward.
At the AGM we will also find out who will win the prizes in our 2017 End of Season Draw. The first prize is £500 cash and all the other prizes can be seen here. Following on from the fantastic success of last years end of season draw where the members of the Trust and fellow supporters raised over £2000 the decision was made to make this an annual event. The Fans Trust are pleased to announce the launch of the 2017 End of Season Draw with a brilliant top prize of £500. We have secured bigger and better prizes than last year with at least another 9 quality prizes which will be revealed on a regular basis in the programme and also on the Fans Trust web site. As per last year the emphasis has been on finding non-speedway related prizes to make the draw appealing to all so we are looking for Trust members and fellow supporters to sell tickets to family, friends, work colleagues, etc. As per last year there will be a prize on offer for the supporter that sells the most tickets. The tickets will be available from tonight either at the Fans Trust Gazebo or in the Bar after every meeting so please come and take some books to sell. Please speak to a committee member if you have any questions about the draw or if you would like to help in any way. The draw will be made at our Annual General Meeting on Friday 24th November, more details will be sent out in due course. Tickets will also be available to purchase here.
Please help us to make this a bigger success than last year, remember every penny we make goes towards ensuring the long term future of the Monarchs and speedway in this part of Scotland. The second prize to be announced is………..

Peter Fernie has won the auction for a 2017 Edinburgh Parsons Peebles Monarchs Season Ticket, this was originally given to the Trust by the speedway club. Thank you to everyone that made a bid and special thanks to Ross Green for donating the prize to the auction.
The first fixture available for the season ticket is tonight’s match against the Berwick Bandits. The Bandits will be out for revenge after our win in the borders last Saturday night and have a few riders who could cause a problem or two. However the Monarchs looked good in the first two matches and will be looking to build on this on home shale so should be a good night.
