{"id":1647,"date":"2020-03-05T12:12:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-05T12:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.monarchsfanstrust.co.uk\/?p=1647"},"modified":"2020-03-03T00:17:55","modified_gmt":"2020-03-03T00:17:55","slug":"2020-pre-season-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monarchsfanstrust.co.uk\/?p=1647","title":{"rendered":"2020 Pre-season update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Away video night last Friday signaled a ramp up in preparations for the 2020 speedway season and the bikes will soon roar into action at Armadale later this month.\u00a0 We also heard the great news that <a href=\"https:\/\/whatthefork.co.uk\/\">What The Fork<\/a> will sponsor the Monarchs and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stellaruk.co.uk\/\">Stellar<\/a> will sponsor the Dale Devils, we welcome both to the speedway family and we hope it is the start of long and fruitful relationships.\u00a0 Sponsorship is key to the future of our club and if you know of any companies or individuals who are interested in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk\/platinum-business-club\">Platinum memberships<\/a> or any other advertising\/sponsorship then <a href=\"mailto:info@edinburghmonarchs.co.uk\">contact the club<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fans Trust committee continue to meet monthly, at the\nfirst meeting of the year we confirmed that the main positions in the committee\nwill remain unchanged for 2020:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Chairman: Len Jones<\/li><li>Treasurer: April Beveridge<\/li><li>Secretary: Dave Harley.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They will continue to be supported by the rest of the committee: Craig Beveridge, Stuart Coates, Dave King, Alan Paterson, Greer Robson, John Scholan, Jim Smith and Paul Strachan.\u00a0 As always if you would like to get more involved and help with the committee please get in touch.\u00a0 We are always looking for help and fresh ideas.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" src=\"http:\/\/www.monarchsfanstrust.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Committeepresentation.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1649\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monarchsfanstrust.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Committeepresentation.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.monarchsfanstrust.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Committeepresentation-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Trust funds were boosted over the winter thanks to the\nregular donations from our members, thank you for your continued contributions\nas they are vital to the continuance of Edinburgh Speedway.&nbsp; Even with all\nthe latest sponsorships the Monarchs Fans Trust is still key to the future of\nthe club.&nbsp; At our latest committee meeting we agreed to give the club \u00a3800\nto help with pre-season preparations.&nbsp; This is something we have done the\nlast few years and the club have indicated that this season they intend to use\nthe money to build boarding on the road next to the stadium to advertise the\nspeedway.&nbsp; As always there are a few things around the stadium that need a\nlittle TLC and they are determined to finish painting the back fence\nblue.&nbsp; On that note they are looking for volunteers for the next few\nSaturdays to help with the work.&nbsp; Check out the website and\/or <a href=\"mailto:info@edinburghmonarchs.co.uk\">contact the club<\/a> for more\ndetails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GoCardless<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GoCardless are the direct debit partner of the Monarchs Fans\nTrust, we have been using their service since we launched in 2015 as they\nenable us to collect contributions from our members easily.&nbsp; They have\nrecently increased their transaction fees to 1% +20p for every transaction\n(capped at \u00a34).
