Civic Reception for the Monarchs

Edinburgh City Council honoured the achievements of the 2015 Edinburgh Border Roofing Monarchs with a Civic Reception at the City Chambers on Wednesday night. This was a special occasion and the Bailie Norman Work expressed his thanks to the impressive way the club represents the city of Edinburgh. Alex Harkess used the opportunity to thank everyone who contributes to the success of the Monarchs and was very keen to emphasize how much of a team effort it is. That community spirit is one of the reasons why the Monarchs is so special to many of us and why the Trust has been able to make a significant contribution in such a short period of time. We thank the club for inviting a few members of the Trust committee to attend and it was great to see so many members of the Trust also in attendance.

It was a nice opportunity to catch up with speedway friends as we all patiently await the start of the season and the announcement of our 7th rider. We’ll be able to do that again at the Video Night next week.
